This is a project that (fortunately) will never be finished… Why would anyone say that?  Well…

The Printed Textiles Project is an ongoing research initiative which seeks to catalogue information about painted and printed textiles that were produced before the Industrial Revolution (circa 1700 CE).  As we progress in learning about painted and printed textiles and new discoveries are made, we will continue to update the catalogue and blog!

Although it is an independent initiative, The Printed Textiles Project wishes to acknowledge that it was born out of research that was generously funded by the Society of Antiquaries of London via a research grant conferred to Tonia Brown-Kinzel with a Janet Arnold Award in 2020.
